Designed for missionaries serving more than one year, who don’t need cover within the USA.
Alpha is an international Private Medical Insurance plan designed for missionaries. Members also have access to extra resources to stay physically, mentally, and financially healthy, so they can be their best and have the greatest impact in their calling.
Alpha also provides full coverage in a missionary’s home country should a member need to return home for treatment, or during times of furlough.

Everyone’s needs are different. We have an excellent insurance policy and then allow you to personalize it to your needs.
All prices are quoted in US$ per year.
Alpha Restricted Territories
This option is ideal for missionaries who are not from, nor are planning to serve in the countries listed below. The reason is that this option restricts cover to a maximum of 60 days or $50,000 per insured year (whichever comes first) for emergency cover of a new medical condition which first manifested while a member was visiting the following countries:

Coinsurance: The first 20% of any admissible cost for accident and emergency treatment received in the listed countries is payable by the insured.
Pricing: Limiting cover in these high-cost countries reduces the Alpha premiums by 25% from the standard Alpha premiums.

Pregnancy
This option covers pregnancy, childbirth, and elective cesarean sections, after the first ten months from its purchase date, for any treatment cost associated with normal pregnancy, or any related condition. Mothers have the choice of any hospital they want in the available countries.
Pricing:
- $696 per Policy (US$4,000 of cover)
- $957 per Policy (US$10,000 of cover)
- $957 per Policy (US$25,000 of cover) 10% co-insurance applies
Additional Chronic Conditions Cover
Cover includes check-ups associated with the chronic condition, drugs and dressing prescribed for the management of the chronic condition, hospital accommodation, nursing, surgery, and palliative treatment.
Cover under this option further includes medical expenses which arise from or are in any way related to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and/or related HIV illnesses, including Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) or Aids Related Complex (ARC) and/or any mutant derivative or variations.
Expenses are limited to:
- Pre and post diagnosis consultations
- Routine check-ups for this condition
- Prescribed drugs and dressings (except experimental or investigational)
- Hospital accommodation and nursing fees
The cover is limited to new medical conditions that manifest after the purchase of this benefit.
Pricing: $681 per Adult and $231 per Child.
Note: This option is applied to all dependents on the policy.
Dental
This Options Includes:
Dental treatment (80% refund) up to US$500
Dental surgery (80% refund) up to US $500
Periodontics (80% refund) up to US $500
Orthodontic treatment and dental prostheses (50% refund)( 10 month waiting period) up to US $2,000
Dental Treatment
An annual check-up, simple fillings related to cavities or decay, root canal treatment, and dental prescription drugs.
Dental Surgery
Surgical extraction of teeth, as well as other tooth-related surgical procedures such as apicoectomy and dental prescription drugs. All investigative procedures that establish the need for dental surgery such as laboratory tests, X-rays, CT scans and MRI(s) are included under this benefit.
Periodontics
Dental treatment related to gum disease.
Orthodontics
The use of devices to correct malocclusion (misalignment of your teeth and bite).
- Increased overjet > 6mm but <= 9 mm
- Reverse overjet > 3.5 mm with no masticatory or speech difficulties
- Anterior or posterior crossbites with > 2 mm discrepancy between the retruded contact position and intercuspal position
- Severe displacements of teeth > 4
- Extreme lateral or anterior open bites > 4 mm
- Increased and complete overbite with gingival or palatal trauma
- Less extensive hypodontia requiring pre-restorative orthodontics or orthodonticspace closure to obviate the need for a prosthesis
- Posterior lingual crossbite with no functional occlusal contact in one or more buccal segments
- Reverse overjet > 1 mm but < 3.5 mm with recorded masticatory and speech difficulties
- Partially erupted teeth, tipped and impacted against adjacent teeth
- Existing supernumerary teeth
Dental Prostheses
Crowns, inlays, onlays, adhesive reconstructions/restorations, bridges, dentures and implants as well as all necessary and ancillary treatment required.
Price $367 per person
This option must be applied to all dependents on the policy. The annual deductible or excess does not apply.
Cover is available after you’ve had 6 months of continuous cover from the date that this optional benefit was first included in your plan.
Travel Insurance
A straightforward and effective travel insurance policy that works while you’re away from your home country and overseas country of residence. Please note that for children, this option is only necessary if the child travels alone.
Cancellation & Curtailment: Up to $1,500 for unused travel and accommodation costs, should you have to cancel or cut short your projected journey.
Luggage, Clothing & Personal Effects: Up to $1,000 for loss of, or stolen to, luggage, clothing and personal effects. $1,000 in respect of loss of, or stolen notebook computer and up to $300 for loss of or stolen camera or musical instrument.
Loss of luggage: We will pay $20 per kilogram of the luggage weight. Documentation of the carrier’s rejection of the claim for loss of luggage and proof of luggage weight is required when submitting a claim. Our liability for each claim shall be limited to $500.
Luggage Delay: Up to a maximum of US$100 for the essential items you need until your luggage arrives. Your luggage must be delayed for at least 12 hours after arrival and is only applicable for your outbound travel (not your return travel).
Personal Money & Passport: Up to $500 for the loss or stolen cash and passports.
Excess: $50 for each claim ($100 in the USA).
Territory: Worldwide, excluding a member’s Home Country and Normal Country of Residence.
Pricing: $30 per Person
*This option lasts for 12 months, and no refund is available in the event of policy cancellation.
Compassionate Travel
This option provides cover for reasonable travel and accommodation for one insured person (together with any minors) per policy having to travel to and return from the normal Country of Domicile or Country of Residence when:
- A parent has unexpectedly suffered a life-threatening accident, life-threatening illness, or suffered sudden death from any condition (which did not pre-date the purchase date of this agreement).
This covers $1,500 of the costs for travel and is limited to no more than two claims in any five years. - A near relative is unexpectedly placed on the critical list following an accident. This covers $3,000 towards the cost of travel per incident.
Pricing: $384 per Policy
Personal Accident
- Accidental Death
- Permanent Total Disablement from usual occupation following an accident
- Loss of and/or loss of use of eyes and/or limbs following an accident
Please be assured that, even without this option, you would be covered for treatment of injuries sustained in an accident.
Pricing: $212 per Adult
*This option lasts for 12 months, and no refund is available in the event of policy cancellation.
Non-Emergency Travel
This option will provide the cost of return economy-class travel to the country of the nearest appropriate medical facility if a member requires inpatient or day-patient non-emergency treatment that is unavailable at the member’s current location. Subject to written agreement from us, and certified instructions from the attending medical practitioner or specialist including confirmation that the required treatment is unavailable at the place of incident. $500 per period of cover (subject to 20% coinsurance).
Emergency travel benefits are included as a standard benefit within the policy.
Note: The option, if purchased, must be applied to all dependents on the policy.
Pricing: 4% of total policy premium (please get a quote for details).
Vision Care
Provides for the cost of a routine eye exam and the purchase of vision hardware when the member’s prescription has changed. Limited to one eye exam and a maximum of $250 per insured person per period of cover.
Applies to one eye exam and prescription costs for:
• Contact lenses
• Spectacles
• Spectacle lenses
• Spectacle frames
Pricing: $78 per person.
Must be applied to all dependents on the policy.
Policy excess/deductible does not apply to this benefit. 50% coinsurance inside the USA and 20% coinsurance outside of the USA.

Crisis Assistance Program (CAP)
A program that covers evacuations and crisis response teams during natural disasters and times of political instability.
CAP Provides Crisis Support for:

• Ransom
• Violent Crime
Along with 24/7 live support, the CAP Advantage App delivers real-time travel risk support to help members steer clear of security threats altogether.
Pricing for CAP is $90/year per adult and $60/year for each dependent child.
Travel to the following countries is not covered: Afghanistan, Libya, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Yemen.
CAP does not provide evacuation services to members serving in countries where the member’s passport country advises against all travel, such as US Travel Advisory Level 4 countries for US citizens. If the member’s country does not have a formal travel advisory, the US travel advisory will be used. If the member is in a US Level 4 country (the travel advisory advises against all travel), they can only access the Crisis Response Center (CRC) to get advice on their situation.

Terms and More Info
Excess: The amount payable by a member for expenses incurred before any benefits are paid by the policy. The excess is applied per medical condition per insured person.
Co-Insurance: The first 20% of any admissible cost for an accident and emergency treatment received in the USA. The maximum payable by you is $5,000 per insured person per period of cover. Also, the first 20% of any admissible cost incurred for Well Child Care and Annual Wellness Check. The coinsurance is applied after any deduction for excess applicable to the policy.
